- My Porsche 911 at Roswell:
Here is my new car, with its
brand new "Lime Lite" paint , on its first starting grid with
me standing behind it in my lime green pith helment which I
needed since it was a really dreary weekend where it rained
quite hard sometimes...and us with only slicks! It was so cold
my husband said his teeth were chattering and legs shaking as
he went down the straight.

- Vick Campbell's Midwest
Division-winning TR-4: This is
Vick
Campbell's red TR-4, pictured
in his home garage, that basically pushed my husband into
racing about 1964. John saw it at a Tulsa import car
dealership's shop where Vick's mechanic, Cooper, worked. Not
long afterwards, as luck would have it, John spotted a TR-4
race car in Tulsa on a used car lot and traded a beautiful 1963
Plymouth Fury for it. John's brother, James, still owns the
TR-4 and is in the midst of restoring it for vintage racing.

- Speaking of #33: Also running #33, as was John McCombs, was Paul
Newman, shown here at Riverside International in '78 or '79 in
an IMSA race we went to. The Datsun is shown heading back to
the start/finish line with the famous Riverside "S" turns
grandstand in the background.
